However, in France it is imperative to have your gold assets placed under seal. In fact, as soon as the seal is opened to divide the Combibar, it becomes impossible to benefit from the tax on the capital gain in the event of resale, it will then be the tax on precious metals – less advantageous – which will apply.
Most of the time, it is cheaper to invest in a gold bar than to invest in gold coins. In addition, the larger the ingot, the lower the weight / cost ratio. Indeed, the costs of manufacturing (manufacture of the ingot) are fixed. So the costs are naturally more impacting on small weights than on large weights. Buying gold bars will also allow you to benefit from the advantages guaranteed by the French tax system since these investments are exempt from VAT. The gains made during such a purchase will obviously depend on the finesse and quality of these goods.
